Tari Secondary School Principal, Clive Yemeni received the keys to a double classroom and a staff house newly constructed by ExxonMobil PNG (EMPNG), operator of the PNG LNG Project.
Mr. Yemeni thanked EMPNG on behalf of the school’s board of management, administration, teaching staff and students at the handover presentation.
EMPNG Hides Gas and Conditioning Plant Senior Field Superintendent, Ken Rhyason officiated the handover said investing in education is a key priority of ExxonMobil PNG.
"We recognise education is the cornerstone to Papua New Guinea's future.
"These improvements will help improve access to basic education, in addition, this will help children realise their education potential and as a result, strengthen their communities," Mr Rhyason said.
Tari Secondary School is one of the nine Community Development Support infrastructure projects EMPNG commenced at the start of production to support educational institutions in the project area.
The institutions include Dauli Teachers Colleage, Tugupawi Primary, Idawi Primary, Mananda Primary, Kawale Elementary, Baguale Primary, Inu Elementary and Omati Elementary.
EMPNG has been providing support to the schools in the Project area since construction commenced in 2010.
