Representative landowner companies
Prior to construction of the PNG LNG Project, ten representative landowner companies were selected to provide business operations support associated with PNG LNG.
Each of the landowner companies represented a geographic area within our project footprint and covered the Southern Highlands (and later Hela), Western, Gulf and Central provinces.
Business agreements were put in place for the provision of services relating to labour hire, security, catering, camp management and light vehicle supply.
As part of the agreements, we committed to providing each landowner company with education and training to ensure standards were met and to build their capacity for a long-term future.
The support and local knowledge provided by the landowner companies was crucial to the delivery of PNG LNG. By working together, we were able generate jobs for the community, develop business opportunities and deliver the Project safely and ahead of schedule.
Today, we continue to engage landowner companies to provide labour hire, maintenance, transportation, fuel distribution, container freighting and vegetable supplies. We also sponsor workers from those landowner companies to attend training courses at the Enterprise Centre.
