ExxonMobil PNG Limited, the operator of the PNG LNG Project, has delivered a K22,000 donation to the Hiri Moale Festival Committee.
The festival, which runs from 15 to 16 September, celebrates the sea and man’s life on it, and aims to preserve the Hiri Trade traditions.
The festival will take place along Ela Beach this year, beginning with the arrival and welcoming of the lagatoi.
“The Hiri Moale Festival is a great way to showcase the wonderful culture and traditions of Papua New Guinea and the communities where we work,” said Dale Pittman, ExxonMobil PNG Deputy Production Manager.
“Thousands of people come together at this festival and we’re excited to be able to help make this festival a successful one.”
The annual festival is hosted by the Motu Koita Asembly.
